The Peschiera spring in Castel Sant'Angelo is one of the largest in Europe, with its 18,000 liters per second.

Currently the heart of the source is surrounded by a large area of respect. This aqueduct provides part of the water supply to the city of Rome and was built in the era of fascism.

The works began in 1938 and ended in 1949.
