In April, a curious event organized by the Hobby Moto d'Epoca Association and the Motoclub '97, and an exhibition dedicated to vintage motorcycles with the participation of the most representative Reatini pilots.

The competition is attended by motorcyclists and skiers from all over the Region, who parade by arm in their vintage motorcycles from Rieti to Terminillo.

It is a re-enactment of the first edition of the competitive Motorcycling, which took place on February 27, 1938.

The competition consisted of a mixed test of cross-country skiing and motorcycle regularity, which could be attended by all motorcyclists skiers or motorcyclists with a skier on board.

The two had to tackle a course, from Rome to Terminillo, and a cross-country skiing circuit.

The re-enactment ends with the start of the old 5 km long cross-country ski run by the participating skiers.

During the day beyond the historical re-enactment, it is possible to follow an enogastronomic itinerary with the best products of the province of Rieti.

Along the Melfa Gorge you can experience the mountains with rock climbing on the walls.

It is remembered that these walls and caves have hosted for centuries hermits but also brigands whose legends still echo in the nearby villages.

The 3 recommended climbing sites are: the Hermitage of the Holy Spirit, the Christmas Gift and Hollywood.

Each of the walls has several possible paths with varying degrees of difficulty.

Among these walls live many species of birds such as birds of prey, woodpeckers and crows. To avoid disturbing them it is absolutely forbidden to climb into the cave openings.

The shape of the Monti Lepini in the area of ​​the ancient city of Norba is perfect for paragliding in Norma.

A plateau with a steep side overlooking the Pontine Plain where the warm upward currents allow a long stay in the sky.

The launch area is right next to the already excavated archaeological area of ​​Norba and there are many groups of enthusiasts and flying schools who come to practice.

Norma also hosts international paragliding events and is very popular for this combination of history and nature.

While you are in flight you can appreciate all the beauty of the archaeological excavations, the rugged mountains of Lepini, the sweetness of the plains and the sea with the Circeo peninsula and the Pontine islands.

With its "high" slopes, Campo Staffi in Filettino it enjoys good snow cover for about five months a year.

The slopes, between 1500 and 2000 meters of altitude, are equipped with two chair lifts, three ski lifts and a rope tow and are suitable for all categories of skiers.

Campo Staffi looks like a large undulating valley that extends between Mount Cotento (2014), Mount Viperella and the Colle Staffi.

Accumoli is inside the Gran Sasso National Park and Monti della Laga and is crossed by a panoramic road connecting the park with the Gran Sasso massif and the chain of the Laga mountains.

Here there are trails on foot or mountain bike. The ‘ippovia’ (horse track) of Gran Sasso is instead dedicated to equestrian tours.

In addition, the park has ski resorts for winter sports.
 

Mount Terminillo (2,216 m s.l.m.) is a popular destination during the winter season although in recent years ski tourism has shifted to Abruzzo.

During the summer, its paths are very inspiring and beautiful. Mountain lovers can hike along the marked trails of the CAI (Club Alpino Italiano).

At Campofiorito, on Monte Terminillo, is the Terminillo Apennine Studies Centre "C.Jucci", that deals with research and experimentation in the field of agronomy and studies the weather readings.

The centre carries out its activities through four research stations placed at 379, 1050, 1739 and 2000 m above sea level.
