Alatri. The Muraglie Walls

Alatri. The Muraglie Walls

The Muraglie Walls are the remains of a Roman Republican era rustic villa that is located on the southern slopes of the Drago Hill border with Alatri.

The farm consists of a large quadrangular plate, with terracing walls both in polygonal "IV maniera" and in an uncertain type.

The remains of a rectangular bathtub that was probably used for rainwater collection are visible.

The most important finding is a fragment of marble slab with an inscription, perhaps from the end of the 2nd century AD, a dedication of a slave to a mistress.

The structures found are certainly related to a rustic villa.
