Gallicano nel Lazio. Amato Bridge

The Amato bridge in Gallicano nel Lazio 10 meters high bridge should date back to the second century BC.

It is difficult to accurately date because it has been reinforced in the tenth century and rebuilt in large parts after the second world war bombings.

On this bridge passed the ancient Prenestina road and the old route is visible still, fully paved and bordered by ‘crepidini’ (gutter) of the ancient route.
