At the borders of the territory of Casalvieri we find an old bridge, the Devil's bridge whose name is linked to a particular history.
All the area of the village since ancient times was frequented by many friars. History tells that in that area, a monk met a young woman at night, not keeping his vocation.
The flight of love did not go unnoticed by the superior monk who one evening decided to follow the young man who, seeing himself discovered with his lover, decided to get rid of the man throwing him from the bridge.
In order not to arouse suspicion, the unfaithful monk recounted that the body of the superior had been swallowed up by the force of the devil appeared from under the bridge!
The name "ponte del diavolo" is thus bound forever to this story of love and death known to all the inhabitants of the Valle di Comino.
