Montelanico. Castle of Pruni

Montelanico. Castle of Pruni

The medieval castle of Pruni is apparently part of the system built to control this territory around the year 1000 when it belonged to the Duchy of Ceccano.

It is located along the road that from Montelanico leads to Carpineto and was destroyed in the fifteenth century due to hereditary issues arising between the Colonna and the Orsini.

The remains of the walls are visible in the shape of pentagon, a building 4-5 meters high and about 20 meters long that mingles with the rock on which it rests.
