Castro dei Volsci was one of the towns of the Pontifical State bordering the Bourbon Kingdom and in the mountains there are still visible many border markers - cippi di confine.

Every year, in a special recurrence in April, volunteer groups symbolically re-establish the ancient border signs with 'Adjoining Boundary Stones' .
