Cervaro. Ruins of Monte Trocchio castle

Monte Trocchio in Cervaro is a settlement that in 1601 it was annexed to the municipality.

The remains of the castle of a church and a cistern are still visible. Castle Monte Trocchio, called "Torrocolo", was fortified in 1057 for fear of attacks by the Normans on the possessions of the Abbey of Montecassino.
