Capena. Columbarium

The colombarium were a type of burial used during the Roman Empire (but already in use by the Etruscans) and consisted of underground rooms with many niches for storing urns.

The columbarium of Capena, called "old pharmacy", dates back to the second century BC and consists of four upper chambers and two lower.
