Fontechiari. Medieval Walls

The town wall of Fontechiari dates back to before the year 1000 and is equipped with 12 towers, some of which are embedded in the buildings while others are visible and in good condition.

In a document of 937, Fontechiari was called “curtis in castello quo dicitur Sclavi”, that is, a fortified community with the name Sclavi.
