Villa San Giovanni in Tuscia. Old Village

The historical centre of Villa San Giovanni in Tuscia is set on the remains of a Roman villa built in several stages between the third and fourth centuries AD.

The villa was discovered by chance thanks to urban constructions made in 1927 and 1961.

In via delle Fortezze there are visible remains of pavements with mosaics in black and white.

From historical documents of 1882 there is news of a wall from Roman times, of which only a section in "La Torraccia" remains.
