Formia. Roman Theatre

The ancient roman theatre is located in the village of Castellone, dating to the first century BC.

According to tradition here in 303 DC Saint Erasmus bishop of Antioch was martyred.

The preserved parts of the theatre were incorporated in an eighteenth century palace, but subsequently the theatre was reconstructed by historians.
