Fonte Nuova. Saint Anthony tower

Saint Anthony tower in Fonte Nuova is a square tower dates back to tufo brick construction of the thirteenth century.

It is located in a farmhouse around which in those years was a fortified castle. Later in the seventeenth century it came under the control of the monastery of St. Anthony.

The house is typical of those in the Roman countryside with large external buttresses. The windows have marble frames and slots mark the points through which the defenders shot arrows.
