Roviano. The Scotonico bridge

The  Scotonico bridge in Roviano is a viaduct built by the Romans at 36 miles from the ancient consular road Valeria.

It was built between 94 and 97 AD, when the Emperor Nerva ordered the construction of the road that connected Rome with the Adriatic coast.

Along the Valeria way were found several rustic villas, tombs, columns and numerous milestone markers now preserved in the Castle Brancaccio.
