Trevignano Romano. The Tomb Annesi-Piacentini

In Annesi-Piacentini an Etruscan tomb is buried inside a large necropolis that extended for about 3 km in Trevignano Romano.

The necropolis dates back to the VIII-V century BC, i.e. within the Orientalizing phase and the Archaic phase of the Etruscan culture.

The examination of the grave goods has allowed the reconstruction of the social profile of the inhabitants of the Etruscan centre.

The Annesi-Piacentini tomb has a dromos, long corridor of 15 m entrance, which leads to two symmetrical rooms with platforms carved in the shape of funerary beds, on which lay buried six bodies.

The rich collection consists of about two hundred and thirty artifacts are now located at the Etruscan and Roman City Museum of Trevignano Romano.
