The Le Prata complex comprises two wells where women went to do laundry in stone washtubs in Vallecorsa. Alongside the big wells is the church of San Gaetano.
On the edge of the hole in Maltempo there are three large pits that fill with rainwater that is indispensable in such an area with a continuing shortage of water.
The pits are circular in shape and made of dry stone, with passages which allow people to get down from the lowest part to draw water.
It is difficult to establish the date of their construction but they are already mentioned in the 1531 statute where anyone who harmed them was punished.
Water was a precious commodity, and was used for sanitary purposes (drinking, washing clothes) and animals.
