Anagni. Church of the Madonna delle Grazie

The Church of the Madonna delle Grazie was built on a pre-existing temple to pay homage to the Madonna for some miraculous events.

The current building dates back to the fifteenth century and immediately assumed an important role thanks to a fresco of the Madonna that was brought inside by the Confraternity of Sacconi.

This fresco represents the Virgin between San Magno and Santa Secondina, and many miracles have been attributed to this image. The most recent is the one that occurred on May 15, 1871 when the image of the Virgin moved her eyes in front of several people.

The Feast of the Madonna delle Grazie is celebrated in Anagni with a solemn mass and a procession in the month of May each year.
