The chapel of Saint Lucy overlooks the main square in the historic center of Arcinazzo Romano from which it takes its name.
Given its position, it is believed that its origin is medieval, perhaps one of the towers of the wall. Its current form dates back to a 16th century renovation and an inscription on the apse bears the date 1611.
The chapel looks like an open place, protected by a grating, characterized by two large marble columns that end with a tympanum.
The part protected by the roof consists of a first small room with a square plan dedicated to the fallen of all wars and a second part with a frescoed altar and apse. In the center you can admire the images of Saint Lucy between Santa Apollinare and another saint, while the Madonna with angels is represented in the semi-dome. All the works were painted by Silvestro Coardi.
