Monterotondo. Basilica of Saint Mary Magdalene

The cathedral, or the Basilica of Saint Mary Magdalene in Monterotondo, was built in the seventeenth century by the Barberini family.

To give it a defensible potential the walls were enlarged. The facade was restored in baroque style by the Marquis del Grillo.

The bell tower dates from the same period and ends with a spire. Inside to see the fresco of that time dedicated to Our Lady of the Temple.
