The Collegiate Church of Sant'Erasmo in Bassiano dates back to the fourteenth century.
It was completely rebuilt in 1530 due to lightning that had damaged the medieval structure.
A further major restoration work took place during the nineteenth century.
It is dedicated to Saint Erasmus, patron of the village, and inside it have been discovered frescoes dating back to 1599 that depict an Ascension of Christ between St. Erasmus and St. Francis.
