Broccostella. Church of Madonna of the Chiaie

The church of Madonna of the Chiaie in Broccostella dates from the fifteenth century.

It preserves a valuable fresco depicting the Madonna and Child.

It is a rural church, surrounded by olive groves and immersed in a charming rural setting of Broccostella.

In 1944 some English avant-garde soldiers clashed with the Germans and a 88 mm bullet pierced the vault and ended up on the altar without exploding leaving a still visible mark.
