Campodimele. The monastery of Saint Onofrio

Saint Onofrio is the patron and protector of Campodimele and the foundation of the monastery dates back to the eleventh century.

It was built by the abbot Desiderio of Monte Cassino, who became Pope Vittore III.

It was a simple single-nave church with small apartments and service rooms.

It is a destination for pilgrims and tourists.
