Santa Maria in Vescovio, cathedral of the Sabines in Torri in Sabina, was a bishopric until 1495.
The church is Romanesque and dates from the twelfth century, although the first construction is the oldest and is dated to the VIII century.
The change took place in the twelfth century with a raising and construction of the bell tower with five opening levels.
In the tower you can see the many fragments of sculptures along with early medieval inscriptions, marble slabs and bricks taken from the Roman city ruins.
The church has a single nave and is decorated with paintings from the late thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. On the walls are visible some scenes from the Old and New Testament and the Last Judgment.
In the crypt you can see frescoes of the eighth century.
