The small church of the Madonna del Castagno was built in 1675 in Monte Compatri.
it was erected following the discovery of a painting of the Virgin and Child, owned by the Cardinal Gambara.
The brothers then erected this small church in honour of the Virgin, which has become a place of worship and pilgrimage.
