Itri. Church of Saint Michael Archangel

The church of St. Michael the Archangel in Arab-Norman style is in the historical center of Itri and is the oldest church in town.

Of the original structure of the eleventh century only the tower and part of the roof are preserved.

The placement of the tower, adorned in colourful majolica tiles, is very original because it is situated at the front door of the church.

The interior of the church was covered with stucco in the XVIII century, and it holds precious works in marble and a wooden statue of St. Michael the Archangel.
