Magliano Romano. Church of San Giovanni Battista

Although the facade is recent (1939), the church of San Giovanni Battista in Magliano Romano dates from the fourteenth century.

Inside it has preserved twelfth-century frescoes from Grotta dell'Angelo, a place of hermitage in the Middle Ages.

The frescoes that were removed in 1939.

They depict Christ among the angels and some scenes from the childhood of Christ (Nativity, Annunciation to the Shepherds, Adoration of the Magi and the Presentation in the Temple).
