Tessennano. Church of San Liberato in the Walls

The church of San Liberato in the Walls in Tessennano and dates from 1668, according to an engraving on a stone,

It is located outside the walls and was one of the most important center of Tessennano spiritual life.

It has a rectangular shape and the apse has frescoes depicting the Annunciation, the Guardian Angels and God.

The frescoes show the story of San Liberato with his trial and martyrdom.

On the altar is a painting donated by Armando Lisini in 1937 representing San Liberato.

In its vicinity you can still see the ruins of the house of a hermit.

The church is open only on the occasion of the feast of May 11.
