Valentano. Church of Saint Mary

Valentano. Church of Saint Mary

The church of Saint Mary dates from the fifteenth century and was built by the Farnese a Valentano.

Its uniqueness is in the neoclassical facade of about 1740 that appears totally added.

In fact, in the eighteenth century it the orientation of the church was changed to direct it with new roads and a facade was added.

The interior is neo-classical, and you can see a reconstructed wooden image of Our Lady of the Chaplet (1736), an "Ecce Homo" in wood of 1700 and a painting on the wall depicting the Crucifixion executed by S. Cannucciari in 1897.
