Vasanello. Church of Santa Maria Assunta

Vasanello. Church of Santa Maria Assunta

The Romanesque church of Santa Maria Assunta was built in the eleventh century on the ruins of a Roman temple in Vasanello.

The building backs onto the medieval wall and features an asymmetrical porch built in the fifteenth century.

The porch is interrupted by the bell tower that has been converted from one of the tower walls.

The church has three naves and there are frescoes of the XIII century, a sixteenth century tabernacle and a baptismal font of the fifteenth century.

In the crypt are the relics of the patron Saint Lanno.
