Roccasecca dei Volsci. Temple church of Santa Maria della Pace

This temple of of Santa Maria della Pace built in 1661, in Bramante style, has a special shape that makes it unique.

It has a circular plan and is located in the lower land of Roccasecca dei Volsci, a geographically strategic point between Ciociaria and the Pontine Marshes.

It was built by Carlo Camillo Massimo II and its interior it contains the fresco of Our Lady of Peace, once venerated for many miracles bestowed on it.

The temple is characterized by the use of brick in the pilasters with Corinthian capitals, in the frames and in the stairway with the dome clad in brick.

In the chapel mass is celebrated every day while the goods and cattle fair is held yearly here on the second Sunday of September.
