Cottanello. Church of St. Nicholas

Cottanello. Church of St. Nicholas

The St. Nicholas church was built in 1384 in Cottanello and was restored in 1681.

It was originally entrusted to the Augustinian fathers who also ran the adjacent convent.

The convent was closed in 1790 and now it is used as a hostel.

The Baroque interior has a single nave with four side altars adorned with seventeenth-century paintings.

On the high altar you can admire a painting of the Assumption.
