Poggio Mirteto. Church of St. Paul

The church of St. Paul in Poggio Mirteto is one of the oldest and dates back to the thirteenth century and is decorated with frescoes, including the triumph of death.

The church's fame is given by a special legend about a plague of locusts in 1654.

It is said that the invasion ended when the Missionary Fathers were celebrating the traditional mass of Friday for intercession of the souls of the dead.
