Antrodoco. Collegiate Church of Santa Maria Assunta

The collegiate church of Santa Maria Assunta in Antrodoco was originally Romanesque and then was rebuilt after the earthquake of 1703.

Along the nave open symmetrically five chapels. In one of these we find a precious wooden altar.

Under the main altar is the embalmed body of St. Benedict (probably a French soldier).

In 2009 the new Ahlborn-Ferraresi organ was inaugurated, mixed technical functions, with four real and fifty virtual registers.

For its acoustics the collegiate church it is often home to concerts of sacred music.
