Frosinone. Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows

The shrine of Our Lady of the Snows was built in Frosinone on a small rural church.

This church was built at the end of the sixteenth century following a miraculous event.

It was May 10, 1675, and the Madonna began to sweat.

The devotion of the faithful was so strong that in one year they built a full church with sacristy, bell tower and furnishings.

The church was badly damaged by the bombing and was completely rebuilt in the 1950s.

The sanctuary is home to a community of devotees.

In the church there is a fresco of the sixteenth century portraying the Madonna of the Snow with Saints Hormisdas and Silverio and an altarpiece by Filippo Balbi representing the Madonna della Cintura.
