The church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the most important in Licenza and its construction is relatively recent. It was built in 1840 based on a design by the architect Valadier who was then very active in the arrangement of Rome and in particular of the Pincio.
The church has a smooth stone facade that ends with a tympanum and is enriched by only two openings: the entrance door and a semicircular lunette.
Next to the church there is a small bell tower also with extremely simple shapes.
The church has a single nave with barrel vaulted roof decorated with geometric designs. Next to the nave there are four side chapels inside niches with frescoed vaulted ceilings and the church ends with a frescoed apse supported by six columns. Above the main altar you can see a statue of the Immaculate Conception.
