The church of St Roch is located in the heart of the ancient village of Licenza and appears as a simple building enriched only by a door with a marble frieze above. Its position and some portions of frescoes suggest a medieval origin of the church in connection with life in the castle.
The church is accessed via a two-way staircase which has a fountain in the center from which water flows. The interior has a single nave with a wooden roof with two side chapels, one with a wooden roof and one with a frescoed cross vault.
The church appears simple and next to the modern high altar is the statue of St Roch which is carried in procession during the feast on August 16th.
