Borgorose. Monastery of St. Paul in Orthunis

In the hamlet of Collemaggiore of Borgorose  is the magnificent St Paul's Benedictine Monastery in Orthunis dating back to the twelfth century.

The religious structure was the main Benedictine community of Cicolano, and on this depended the various parishes of the area.

Today remains only the church that bears the name of the monastery, with a beautiful portal decorated with twisted and smooth columns with a tiled image of the saint.

The interior, with a nave, has undergone several modifications over time.
