Serrone. Hermitage of Archangel St Michael

Serrone. Hermitage of Archangel St Michael

The hermitage of Archangel St Michael is resting on a rocky ridge at an altitude of 1100 meters in Serrone.

It is a pleasant stop for those who, following the paths, want to climb Mount Scalambra on foot.

The Benedictine monastery dates back to 600 and was probably founded by St. Benedict in person, during a contemplative stay in the company of three crows that had shown him the way.

His right hand print is visible in the rock.
