Castel Sant'Angelo. Church of Saint Blaise

The church of Saint Blaise, in the hamlet of Canetra di Castel Sant'Angelo, was originally born as a cemetery church.

The original church of 1500, of which the beautiful portal carved and dated 1565 remains, was destroyed by the overflowing of a torrent and by various seismic events. The new church was consecrated in 1879.

It is divided into three naves with six side altars. Inside there is a sixteenth-century canvas depicting the presentation of Jesus in the temple and the purification of the Virgin Mary.
