Cori. Natural Monument of Lake Giulianello

Cori. Natural Monument of Lake Giulianello

Lake Giulianello of Cori is also called Tower Lake - Lago la Torre and is the third volcanic lake of the Alban Hills together with that of Nemi and Albano.

It has an oval shape and is located between Cori and Artena in an area particularly rich in biodiversity for both fauna and flora.

For this reason it has been declared a Natural Monument by the Lazio Region: it passes from the deciduous forest to the wetlands to the agricultural ones.

In the waters of the lake you can find many varieties of fish such as pike, perch, largemouth bass, tench, eel, scardarola, carp and zander.

Every year in September on its shores there is the festival of  'Lake Cantato' dedicated to peasant culture and the maintenance of local traditions.
