The natural reserve Barco and Gattaceca wood is a large nature reserve in the municipalities of Monterotondo and Mentana with rich flora of various types of hardwood including elm, alder, larch and many types of oak.
The fauna includes many types of birds, squirrels, dormice, foxes and porcupines.
