Collegiove. Nature Reserve of Mount Navegna and Monte Cervia

Collegiove is part of nature reserve of Mount Navegna and Monte Cervia that covers a part of the chain of Carseolani Mountains, between the basins of the rivers Salto and Turano.

The reserve is split into two distinct areas: that of Monte Navegna, and Mount Philo and that of the lower mountains.

The whole reserve is characterized by dense forests of beech, chestnut trees, elms, oaks, hazels and maples in which live golden eagles, wolves and wild cats.

On Mount Cervia there is a karst cave system, known as "Grotte di Paganico", yet to be explored.
