Anagni. Prince of Piedmont College

The 'Prince of Piemonte College' (Convitto Principe di Piemonte) in Anagni is a boarding school originally created to host young boys

After the female boarding school dedicated to elementary school teachers and the college for seminarians were constructed, in 1909 the municipality of Anagni assigned the land where the church of San Pietro in Vineis and the convent of the Capuchins were located for the construction of a boarding school dedicated to the orphans of the employees’ municipalities the 'Prince of Piemonte College'.

The project was entrusted to the architect Calza Bini and was inaugurated in 1930 respecting the architectural treasures of the church and the complex.

There are ten connected buildings that house classrooms, laboratories, gym and theatre. There is also a green space of 14,000 square metres with gardens and sports facilities.

The church of St.Peter's in Vineis dates back to the 12th century and took its name from the area that was rich in vineyards. Inside there is an incredible cycle of frescoes and a cosmatesque floor.
