The boarding school dedicated to the first Italian queen was built in the structures of the ancient convent of San Giacomo dei Domenicani (St James of the Domenicans), which had been expropriated to the church after 1870. It was inaugurated in 1888 and initially dedicated to the daughters of elementary teachers.
National boarding schools were established to allow disadvantaged people to attend school and subsequently access universities, and Queen Margherita Boarding School Anagni's was characterized by an innovative pedagogical teaching system.
The complex is located at the beginning of the city, near the church of San Giacomo which was once part of the convent, and it has gardens and sports facilities, laboratories and conference rooms.
