Anagni. Traietto Palace

The Traietto Palace was built in the 13th century and commissioned directly by Pope Boniface VIII after his family had bought almost all the buildings in the area of Anagni. The current name comes from the family of the Marquis Traietto who had bought it in 1872.

The main facade of the building is on Via Maggiore and has been rebuilt in an 18th century style with a large neoclassical entrance door with two columns on each side supporting a small balcony.

But if you go around to the back of the building you can find the original medieval appearance with two large arches in Gothic-Cistercian style that act as a buttress to the structure and that give it an impressive appearance. The large halls are still called Stable of Boniface VIII'.
