Anguillara Sabazia. Anguilla Fountain

The fountain of the Anguille of Anguillara Sabazia is located right on the belvedere which overlooks Lake Bracciano.

It is also known as Jacometti Fountain, from the name of the sculptor.

The classic shape of the fountain is made original by the spouts from which you can see the water which are in the shape of eels.

The fountain dates back to 1776 and was fed with water from the Rubiano ditch to bring water to the town.

A plaque commemorates the first national swimming championship in 1894, under King Umberto I, which took place right in the waters of the lake.
