Ausonia. The Medieval Castle

Ausonia. The Medieval Castle

The medieval castle of Ausonia was built by the princes of Capua in honour of the Abbey of Montecassino.

The original castrum dates back to the year one thousand and around this fortress Ausonia has developed. It has a majestic view with the square shape of the male and the clock tower.

The castrum was almost entirely rebuilt with white stones of Coreno Ausonio.
