The municipal office of Bagnoregio was transferred from Civita after the disastrous earthquake of 1695.
The building was originally the Palace of Justice, as reported by a plaque on the architrave of the old office of the Mayor.
The building has retained its medieval appearance with an interesting entrance staircase to the first floor.
Note an epigraph dated 1922 which attests the change in the name of the village from June 18, 1922 by the will of King Vittorio Emanuele III.
