Bagnoregio. Albana gate

Bagnoregio. Albana gate

In Bagnoregio, Albana gate is the main entrance to the city centre built according to a design by architect Ippolito Scalza and inaugurated in 1589.

It is dedicated to Cardinal Giovanni Girolamo Albani, perpetual governor of Bagnoregio.

Originally, the gate was immediately after a place on Fosso delle Renare and was moved in 1906 by 10 meters to change the flow of vehicle circulation.
