Poggio Mirteto. Bishop's Palace

The bishop's palace in Poggio Mirteto stands where once stood the medieval fortress.

After the defence role was over, during the fifteenth and sixteenth century, the fort was converted into a palace.

The transformation took place with the addition of sections and of opening windows in the thick walls.
